RECYCLED NEOPRENE

Here at The Naturally Cool Company, we’ve teamed up with Circular Flow, recycling pioneers of the neoprene world, to tackle neoprene waste the clever way. By turning it back into something useful instead of sending it to landfill.

Circular Flow invented Renoprene, a material made by transforming old wetsuits into fresh blocks ready for new products. Their recycling process gives discarded neoprene a second life with the same performance, perfect for things like koozies, without needing to create any new rubber.

The majority of neoprene products still reach end-of-life with no circular pathway,  with no real plan for what happens after its last swim so ends up either burned or tossed. Recycled neoprene flips this by using what’s already out there, avoiding new extraction, slashes carbon emissions and keeps valuable material in the loop instead of the bin.

By choosing Renoprene, we’re proving that circular can be cool, and that neoprene doesn’t have to be a one-wave wonder.

WHY RECYCLED NEOPRENE?

Keeping your drink cold shouldn't come at the expense of the planet. We set out to create a product that is useful AND sustainable.

Traditional neoprene is made from petroleum, isn’t biodegradable, and usually ends up in landfill or incineration, damaging ecosystems, using up resources, and generating emissions along the way.

By recycling what already exists, we cut the impact, keep neoprene out of the ground, and give it a second life instead of a dead end.

NEOPRENE'S END OF LIFE PLAN

Most wetsuits and neoprene products are either incinerated or dumped in landfill because traditional neoprene isn’t biodegradable and isn’t widely recycled.

Recycled neoprene gives that material a second (or third!) life instead of becoming waste.

CONSERVES RESOURCES

Neoprene is a synthetic rubber made from petroleum, a non-renewable resource that doesn’t biodegrade. The problem begins at the source and only grows from there. Its extraction and production contribute to:

• Habitat destruction

• Pollution

• Greenhouse gas emissions

• Resource depletion

Why extract more when the material is already out there? Recycling puts existing neoprene back to work instead of wasting what’s been made.

WHAT ABOUT RECYCLED NEOPRENE'S END OF LIFE?

When you’re done with it, Circular Flow can recycle it again. No guilt, no waste just another loop in the cycle and another product made from the same material. It’s neoprene that never needs a landfill.

THAT'S WHY WE USE RECYCLED NEOPRENE

In short, that’s why we choose recycled neoprene because it turns something destined for landfill into something useful, again and again.
